Birth, this sacred momentous experience. Is not an experience that happens in this ordinary reality.
Firstly, what do I mean by “ordinary reality”?
Well, ordinary reality is our waking reality, our normal day to day lives, 3D, physical, matter, tangible, logical experiences. We go to work, we eat, we clean our dishes. However, our ancient ancestors in Ireland knew that here was alternate realities happening simultaneously. They referred to this as “the otherworld”. This is where our spirit guides, loved ones, gods, goddesses live oh and of course the fairies “na Daoine Maithe” or the Sí!
This altered space, is where birth takes place,
Many women experience miraculous experiences, strong visual appearances, wisdom & information, colours etc as if having taken a psychedelic medicine!
So let’s go into the otherworld to collect & birth our babies!
LINEAGE
We are most certainly not the first to birth a baby, and we certainly won’t be the last.
We have billions who have gone before us on this journey, who have passed the threshold of this rite of passage and have experienced the life changing experience of birth.
We know through the study of epigenetics that the trauma of our ancestors is passed down and makes changes to our DNA, however, aswell as the trauma the wisdom of our ancestors is passed down.
We can access this birthing wisdom, this womb wisdom, this mother wisdom.
We can also bring healing to our lineage of all of the births that have caused pain, the babies lost, the deaths, that may still linger in our womb as fear.
As we clear this we allow the truth of birth to come back to flow!
THRESHOLD
A rite of passage is an experience and transition that we go through in our life that altars our life forever.
We are not the same after this experience.
This usually begins with a seperation from everything we thought we knew about ourselves and the world, a death of the old version of us.
This is the letting go of life pre pregnancy, the maiden.
Then we go into the unknown on the greatest adventure of our lives. But into the unknown of birth.
Then we return, changed forever. But with a wisdom and a strength from this life experience.
So often rites of passage are not being honoured or witnessed or even acknowledged.
Mother Altar, is a space to prepare and be witnessed across the threshold of birth.

◉ Inside the portal you will find resources for the month this may include a downloadable PDF, a meditation, a ritual, practice or a video teachings on the topic,
◉ We will then meet live for our 2 hour ceremony online via zoom platform, this will be an opportunity to learn more about the topic of the week, as well as go on a shamanic healing journey to receive your own wisdom and healing. There will be an opportunity to share and be witnessed by your fellow mothers. Recordings will be available and uploaded immediately for replay if timing doesn’t suit you live.
